Sizing Guides
Mamissima maternity wear is available from sizes 6/XXS to 16/XL.
We strongly recommend that you choose your pre-pregnancy size, as maternity clothes have been cut to allow for your changing shape and often made from very stretchy material. Maternity garments are discretely designed and tailored so that they can be worn from early pregnancy throughout the whole nine months. Stretch panels and adjustable bands in jeans and trousers enable you to combine fashion and comfort from early on in your pregnancy until you are ready to give birth. |

| How to choose your trouser waistband:
Although maternity trousers come in various shapes and styles there are only three basic styles of waistband:
Over the bump - elasticised band made of super soft jersey. Sits high on your waist providing good coverage of the waist and extra support. Ideal for a big bump.
Under the bump or semi panel - very flattering fit sometimes with an adjustable waistband, sits under the bump where your natural waist should be. Very comfortable and easy to wear.
Side panel with an adjustable band - this style provides more of a tailored look. Sits on your bump.
*Please do not pull your trousers/jeans up by the waistband this will result in overstretching of the band and in some instances tearing will occur.
*Also do not wash your denim over 30 degrees and do not tumble dry. The manufacturers will not recognise an item faulty should it be treated any other way than above. |
| How to choose your bra: When you notice an increase in the size of your bust, which is generally around three to four months, we strongly recommend you to visit a professional bra fitter and they can ensure you choose the right bra for you. Depending on the development of your bust size you should be fitted again at approximately seven months, however if you feel that your bra is restrictive in any way you need to have your fitting checked straight away.
Maternity Bra: Usually required from the fourth month onwards. The underbust band should allow sufficient leeway for growth, i.e. it should fit comfortably on the tightest hook/row and more loosely on the second and third fastener.
When making your purchase it is important to look for a maternity bra that provides excellent support and flexibility to allow for breast size fluctuation. An easy way to check this is to slide your hand into the upper cup section to assess if there is enough room for expansion.
Nursing Bra: Should be worn from the seventh or eight month when the breast has normally reached its maximum size. The cup should be one size larger than the bra currently being worn. The underbust band does not need any spare width and must be closed on the loosest hook/row and have enough hooks to go back to.
